Mrs. Rosario F. Cavazos, 82, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Brownsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Brownsville.
Rosario was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She touched the lives of countless of children in our community as a teacher and counselor with the BISD for 30 years. After retirement, Rosario enjoyed attending the meetings for BARSEA (Brownsville Area Retired School Employees Assoc.).
A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner at St. Luke’s and later St. Mary’s. Rosario was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Rosario loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and sewing. She enjoyed listening to music and loved to sing along. Rosario was the Matriarch of her family. She had a great love for Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was especially proud of her birthday being on the Day of the Rosary. She lived Christ’s example in her daily life. Rosario was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Rosario is preceded in death by a son, David Joseph Cavazos and her parents, Maria de la Luz and Jesus Refugio Flores.
Rosario is survived by her ex-husband, Sigifredo L. Cavazos and her children: Cynthia A. Cavazos, James E. Cavazos, Sandra E. (Mohammed Elgedawy) Cavazos, and Christina M. Cavazos; 3 grandchildren: Stephanie, Austin, and Ryan and 1 great-grandson, Kaiser; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownsville, Texas. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
I send my deepest condolences to you and your family. May God grant you peace and comfort during this time of need.

Life has an end as a candle light would fade, but in the heart, memories yielded will forever be embedded.
May the love of God heal you as the burden in your heart abounds.
But Jehovah God promises to reunite us with our loved ones soon, so keep in expectation of that promise that is found at John 5:28-29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
Please accept my condolences. Hilda

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your loved one.
At a sad time as this, the Bible gives us comfort at Revelation 21:3&4 where God promises to eliminate sickness, sorrow and death in the future.
I hope this scripture gives you some consolation.
My heart aches knowing my mother is truly gone. She was an incredible woman. She sacrificed everything for the sake of her children. She loved wholeheartedly with body and soul. My mother was my hero I was lucky to have her in my life. She was the strongest person I ever knew and the kindest. She never wished ill upon anyone instead she prayed for anyone needing comfort or guidance. She was a prime example of selflessness and love. Anyone knowing my mother was blessed by her thoughtfulness and kindness. I miss my mother tremendously and my heart is shattered with the knowledge that I will never get to speak to her again. Never will I experience one of her glorious smiles or "I love you, God bbless you" ever again. God please take care of my mommy until I get to be with her again. Thank you God for giving me this woman as my mother. She was a gift to her family. I miss and love you Mom.

Oh, my mother, my beautiful, loving, caring, kind, and selfless mother. Oh, how I miss you. I am forever heartbroken. You are no longer of this world. I miss your voice, your loving smile, your incomparable wisdom, your compassion, your unconditional love, and your unwavering faith in God. You were our example of Christ's love. Your life was one of great sacrifice, great love, and unimaginable suffering. Yet, you bore your cross willingly, never complaining. You were always hopeful and joyful even in your pain. Oh, to live by your example. No one could ever love as deeply, sacrifice as selflessly as you. I have so many regrets. I am sorrowful to the depths of my soul. I know that you are free now. Safe now. At peace now and in God's loving care. I also know that God is well pleased with His "good and faithful servant." I love you mom and going on without you seems impossible. But in your memory I will try to live the rest of my life as you lived yours. Goodbye my mother. May God Almighty Father richly bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Cynthia, Sandra and James -
