Abel L. Garces

Mr. Abel L. Garces, 90, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Valley Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Garces was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He attended Brownsville schools and worked for Union CarbideBrown Root for 29 years until his retirement.

Left to eternally treasure their memories of him are his daughters Fermina Garces Bush and Cristina Garces his sons, Lt. Eddie Garces, Gilberto Garces and Jesus Abel Garces 8 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fermina de la Torre Garces his sisters Juanita T. Rodriguez, Aurora G. Cruz and Maria G. Romero and his brothers Jose Trevino, Pedro Trevino, Daniel Garces, Jr and Roberto Garces.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeal Home.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Honored to be serving as his pallbearers are Abel Garces, Gilbert Garces, Lt. Eddie Garces, Michael Garces, Gilbert Garces, Jr. and Christopher Garces.
