Adan Marks Jr., 83, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Solara Hospital in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.

Adan, a native of Rio Grande City, had been a resident of Brownsville since 1951. He was a proud veteran of WW II having served his country in the Unites States Navy. Adan, also served Brownsville as a police officer for 35 years. Adan was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Adan was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Adan was preceded in death by his parents, Beatriz and Adan Marks Sr., and a sister, Estrella Pea.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 62 years, Olga G. Marks his children: Yvonne Mariano Jr. Manzano, Bernadine Joines, David Marks, and Jessica Dagoberto Lastra the grandchildren that were his pride and joy, Mariano Manzano III, Yvette Marie Braldo Hernandez Lastra, Adam Manzano, Dagoberto Lastra Jr., and David Zachary Marks, and a greatgranddaughter, Meadow Amor Manzano. Adan will also be missed by his siblings: Belta Arturo Guerra, Rodolfo Marks, Ernesto Marks, and America Ronnie Conaulty and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military and Police Honors will be rendered by the Brownsville Police Dept. and American Legion John Hanson Post 43 Funeral Honor Guards at the graveside.

David Marks, Mariano Manzano Jr., Dagoberto Lastra, Mariano Manzano III, Dagoberto Lastra Jr., and Adam Manzano are honored to be serving as Adans pallbearers. David Zachary Marks, Braldo Hernandez, Pat Ochoa, Ruben S Garcia, Sr., Henry Saldaa, and Alex Perez will serve as honorary pallbearers.

May God continue to bless you as you minister to others.
