Albert John Olney, 82, passed away to be with the Lord his savior and his beloved wife, Maria Olney on May 1, 2009.
Albert was born August 8, 1926 in Pittsford, New York. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He lived many years in Rochester, NY and worked as a machinist and the Penn-Central Railroad. Shortly after marrying Maria, from Matamoros, Mexico, they moved to Brownsville to be near her family, which became his family. In Brownsville, he worked at Pan American Bank.
Albert is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hurley and father, Fred D. Olney, his dear wife, Maria Olney, a nephew, Jose Pepe Mireles, a niece, June Pettit, and a grandson, Marco A. Delgado. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Maria Toya Mireles and three children, Jose and his wife, Idolinda, Teresa Mireles, and Juan and his wife, Maria Mireles, and all their children, along with Altagracia Delgado, Nora Delgado and her children and grandchildren. Also surviving is a daughter, Susan Vrazel and her husband, James and their children.
Visitation will begin Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 4p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Services will be held at 12noon, Sunday, May 3, in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be held at the gravesite by the American Legion Post 43 under the command of Raul A. Leal.
