Alberto "Albert" Ricardo Garcia

Alberto Ricardo Garcia, 47, our beloved father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at his residence in Brownsville.

A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Albert, was an active member of our community. Albert served on various Building and Beautifications Committees for the City of Brownsville. At the time of his passing, Albert was the owner of A. R. Garcia Construction. Prior to that, Albert was in Law Enforcement for several years starting as a Bailiff with Judge Robert Rosas; he then served under Sheriff Omar Lucio as a Deputy; and ultimately served as an Agent with the U. S. Border Patrol.

In his spare time, Albert enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed taking road trips, especially to the Texas Hill Country. But Albert's true passion was serving the Catholic Church as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Albert at the present time was serving as the Grand Knight for Council #1553.

Albert was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents: Matias D. and Jovita P. Garcia; and a sister, Adelina "Titer" Garcia.

Albert is survived by his daughter, Natalie Anahi "Nati" Garcia; two brothers, A. R. "Buddy" (Patty) Garcia M.D. and Arnoldo R. Garcia; his uncle, Alex (Edna) Perez; two aunts, Gloria (Alfonso) Ramirez and Elda (Noe) Flores; four nephews: Matias D. "M.D.", Evan, and Arnoldo Rolando Garcia; one niece, Arianna Rebecca Garcia, and numerous cousins and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th and continue through 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road in Brownsville, Texas. All services will conclude after the Mass and in accordance with Albert's wishes, cremation will follow.

Albert's brothers, Dr. Buddy and Arnoldo "Nono" Garcia together with his nephews, M. D., Evan, and Rolando Garcia, his cousins, Noe "Sonny" Perez and Mark Perez, and his Deputy Grand Knight Mike Solis are honored to be serving as his pallbearers. Albert's brother Knights will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Albert's name may be made to the American Cancer Society RGV Division, 9413 South McColl Road, Edinburg, Texas 78539.
