BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Alberto "Beto" Kingsbury, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and retired firefighter, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 5th July 2022 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence. He was eighty-three years of age.
Alberto was born on April 8, 1939 in Brownsville, Texas, son of Martin Kingsbury and Francisca Flores. He proudly served in the United States Air Force where he specialized in technical support, carpentry, cooking, and assembling explosives. He later obtained his associates degree from Texas Southmost College in Brownsville. Alberto went on to serve his community once again, this time as a firefighter with the City of Brownsville Fire Department until his retirement after thirty-seven years of dedicated service.
A devout Catholic, Alberto was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In his spare time, Alberto enjoyed reading and carpentry.
Preceding Alberto in death was his wife, Cleotilde Amador Kingsbury; two children; his parents, Martin Kingsbury and Francisca Flores; his grandson, Lorenzo Aguilar; and his siblings Martin Kingsbury, Isabel Martin, Mary Garcia, Nicolasa Kingsbury, Antonia Garcia, and Edwardo Kingsbury; his maternal grandparents, Antonio and Juanita Flores; and his aunt, Elvira Posada.
Survivors include his children Lilly Elizondo, Martha Jane Kingsbury, Pierre Alberto Kingsbury, and Kelly Anthony Kingsbury; grandchildren Stephanie R. Kingsbury, Rex Martin, Siprina Merino, Preston Kingsbury, Katlin Nicole Kingsbury, and Jaime Alcantar, Jr.; siblings, Martha Kingsbury, Juan Kingsbury and Margarita Flores; great-grandchildren Jonathan Albert Vergana Kingsbury and Max Lorenzo Merino; and cousins, Carmen Cantu and Julie Cantu. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 8th of July 2022 between the hours of two o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Brownsville Fire Department will begin casket watch at approximately half past five o'clock in the afternoon with fire department service presentation immediately following. Military honors will begin at half past six o’clock in the evening and the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock in the evening. All services will conclude Friday night. Cremation will follow.
