Alejandro Mancias Jr., 79, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Solara Hospital in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.

Alejandro was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a loyal and dedicated employee with Lopez Super Markets. He retired after 32 of faithful service having worked as the Manager in various departments. During his retirement years, Alejandro enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially loved bar-be-ques and he was an exceptional cook. Alejandro was a proud veteran having served our country in the Texas National Guard. Alejandro was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Alejandro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria R. Mancias; his parents: Santos G. and Alejandro Mancias; a sister, Carmen Dunlap; and three brothers: Arturo, Cesar, and Eduardo Mancias.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his loving children: Rosario "Rosie" Corbeil, Maribel (Robert) Garcia, Alejandro (Lydia) Mancias III, Noemi Estrada, and Maricela (Henry) Garza. Alejandro will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren: Christine Nicole (Melvin) Bush, Joseph Rene (Crystal) Corbeil, Alejandro Mancias IV, Dominique Diondra Mancias, Robert Garcia Jr., Tiare Garcia, Henry Garza Jr., Audrey Estrada, Aaron Justin Garza, and Bailey Aniston Garza; two sisters: Teresa (Jose Ramon) Saenz and Christina (Lonnie) Ayers; and his brother, Carlos Mancias along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will start at 12 Noon and continue through 9:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 pm Sunday evening. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser on Monday, October 24, 2016. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. The VFW Post 2035 Funeral Honor Guard will render military honors at the graveside.

Alejandro's son, Alejandro III; along with his sons-in-law: Robert Garcia and Henry Garza; and his grandsons: Alejandro IV, Robert Garcia Jr., Henry Garza Jr., and Joseph Rene Corbeil Jr. are honored to be serving as his pallbearers.
