Alfonso M. Ramirez, 78, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on July 3, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Mr. Ramirez was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and served in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1951 overseas and state. He also served in the National Guard. He was worked at Brown and Root for about ten years and was also employed by I.C.E.S. spray painting Navy aircrafts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso P. and Damiana M. Ramirez, his first wife, Margarita M. Ramirez, and by a brother, Refugio Ramirez. He is survived by his wife, Carmela Ramirez of Raymondville, his children, Daniel S. Ramirez, Alfonso Linda Ramirez III, Jose Angel Verniece Ramirez, Mike Briselda Ramirez, Mary E. David Bujanos, Esmeralda R. Albert Moreno and Margarita Ramirez Raul Saldaa, his step-children Gaby and Miguel Ramirez, his brothers, Roberto, Ramiro and Valentin Ramirez, his sisters, Maria Guadalupe Ramirez and Sofia Ruiz, 24 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 9a.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2p.m., Monday, July 7, at St. Marys Catholic Church with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 2035 under the direction of District 18 Commander Luis Lucio.
