Alice Johnson, age 86, of Brownsville, Texas, and formerly of Lakota, North Dakota, died May 3, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene James, Jim Johnson, and her sister.
She is survived by her daughter and soninlaw Elizabeth and John Corr, her granddaughters, Kathleen Geoffrey Schroder and Jacqueline Corr, and her niece, Alice Gene Howard.
Alice was born on June 23, 1923, in Lakota, North Dakota to Frankie and Benedict Foley. She graduated from Lakota High School and enlisted in the Navy WAVES during World War II.
In 1947 she married Eugene James Jim Johnson of Lakota. They farmed in the Lakota area until 1981 when they retired and moved to Brownsville, Texas.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Episcopal Church.
There will be a memorial service at the Episcopal Church of the Advent on Friday, May 7, at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home for their care and kindness.
