MISSION, TX. – Alice Pearl (Crawford) Berry peacefully passed away on Wednesday, the 21st of September 2022 in McAllen, Texas. She was ninety-one years of age.

Alice was born March 4, 1931 in Harrisonville, Missouri, daughter of Sherman and Maggie Burgin Crawford. She moved from Missouri to Brownsville, Texas in 1970 with her children and her husband Eugene W. Berry. Alice was a devoted and loving mother and wife and was also active with her church, Saint Andrew’s by the Sea Episcopal Church of Port Isabel, Texas. She loved people and was active in helping with Gene’s Pendejo Buddy fishing tournaments during their twenty plus years living on South Padre Island, Texas. Alice loved taking walks, sometimes logging more than five miles at a time and giving countless smiles to both friends and strangers along the way.

Preceding Alice in death was her husband of fifty years, Eugene W. Berry; her, parents Sherman and Maggie Crawford; her sisters, Minnie Mae and Margaret Mast; and her brothers, John and Jim.

Survivors include her brother, Bob Crawford of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; her children, Jacqueline Parent and Gregory Berry; her grandchildren, Nathanael and Matthew; as well as her great-grandchildren Maggie, Joseph, Josephine, and James.

A Graveside Service will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 26th of September 2022 at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, to be officiated by The Rev. Dr. Claudia Nalven of St. Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church of Port Isabel, Texas. All those who ever received one of Alice’s smiles are invited to attend.
