BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Alicia Gomez Armendariz entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, the 4th of December 2019. She was seventy-eight years of age.
Alicia was a strong, independent woman who was a loving mother to her six children, whom she raised by herself. She instilled within them valuable life lessons that will continue to carry on for generations to come. Alicia was a secretary with the Brownsville Independent School District for over twenty years, where she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed redecorating the family home quite often, creating different arts and crafts, and cooking; her pork roast was a delicacy as were her famous side dishes. Alicia will always be remembered her for observant outlook on every aspect of life, her wisdom, the tender love and care she had for her family, and as an extraordinary grandmother.
Her husband, Ramiro Rolando Armendariz; parents, Jose and Josefina Gomez; and siblings Alfredo Antonio Gomez, Amparo Gavito (Jose Angel +), Aracilia Senteno (Arturo +), and Alida Lavios (Jose Antonio +), preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children James Armendariz (Deborah), Janet Armendariz, Michael Thomas Armendariz (Margaret), Ramiro Rolando Armendariz III (Adina), David Armendariz (Rachel), and Rick Armendariz (Rosie); grandchildren Alina Laura Armendariz, Caraline Armendariz, Polo Cantu, Illiana Martinez, Sophia Isabella Armendariz, Ricardo Alejandro Armendariz, Cristian Daniel Armendariz, and Analisa Isabel Armendariz; siblings, Antonio Gomez and Alma Gomez; and by extended family members and a host of many friends.
