Alida Gomez Lavios - April 14, 1930 to March 8, 2016

Alida Gomez Lavios passed into eternal rest on March 8, 2016 at her home of 60 years, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Lavios was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jose A.; two daughters, Blanca and Lourdes; and a son, Albert. She is survived by her two sons, Joe and Oscar; and 3 siblings, Alicia Armendariz, Antonio Gomez, and Alma Gomez; and numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Lavios was beloved by many relatives and friends, all of who had the pleasure of dining at her table.

Mrs. Lavios was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also loved to play bingo. Special thanks to her comadre Imelda Alamia for her love and support. Mrs. Lavios will be cremated with funeral arrangements by Darling-Mouser . A Rosary will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Liturgical Service at Darling-Mouser funeral home. Interment is pending. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Miguel Alvarez, Jose Angel Gavito, Stanley Grier, Jaime Armendariz, Michael Armendariz, Ramiro Armendariz, David Armendariz, Rick Armendariz, and Ernest Gorena. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Lavios and family would appreciate donations to the RGV Food Bank.
