Altagracia C. Chapa

BROWNSVILLE — Altagracia C. Chapa entró en descanso eterno el miércoles 20 de abril de 2022 en Valley Baptist Medical Center en Brownsville, Texas. Tenía ochenta y seis años de edad.

Altagracia nació en Rancho El Tomatal, Doctor Cross, Nuevo León, México el 9 de enero de 1936, hija de Alberto Cantu y Guadalupe Longoria de Cantu.

Precediendo a Altagracia en la muerte fue su esposo; Humberto Chapa, su hija, Altagracia Cabrera (Doroteo Cabrera); y su hermano, Leandro Cantú.

Los sobrevivientes incluyen a sus hijos Juan Manuel Chapa Cantú (Leticia Elvira De La Garza), Humberto Chapa Cantú (Maricela Chapa), Dalia Muñoz (José Ángel Muñoz), Maricela Chapa (Marcos Sáenz), Sandra Nelly Chapa, Alberto Chapa, Francisco Chapa, Alma Delia Chapa (Gerardo De Alba), Guadalupe Chapa, Juan Carlos Chapa (Isabel Alvarez) y Vanessa Chapa Torres (Miguel A. Torres); veintitrés nietos; treinta y tres bisnietos; y hermana, Rosa Rodríguez (Eusebio Rodríguez).

El horario de visitas se realizará el lunes 25 de abril de 2022 entre la una de la tarde y las nueve de la noche, comenzando el rezo del santo rosario a las siete de la noche del lunes dentro del Capilla este de la funeraria Darling-Mouser.

La Misa Funeral se celebrará a las diez de la mañana del martes 26 de abril de 2022 en la Iglesia Católica Good Shepherd, 2645 Tulipan Street, Brownsville. Luego seguirá el entierro, a través de una procesión escoltada, en Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Altagracia C. Chapa entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 20th of April 2022 in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her family. She was eight-six years of age.

Altagracia was born in Rancho El Tomatal, Doctor Cross, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on January 9, 1936, daughter of Alberto Cantu and Guadalupe Longoria Cantu.

Preceding Altagracia in death was her husband; Humberto Chapa, her daughter, Altagracia Cabrera (Doroteo Cabrera); and her brother, Leandro Cantu.

Survivors include her children Juan Manuel Chapa Cantu (Leticia Elvira De La Garza), Humberto Chapa Cantu (Maricela Chapa), Dalia Munoz (Jose Angel Munoz), Maricela Chapa (Marcos Saenz), Sandra Nelly Chapa, Alberto Chapa, Francisco Chapa, Alma Delia Chapa (Gerardo De Alba), Guadalupe Chapa, Juan Carlos Chapa (Isabel Alvarez), and Vanessa Chapa Torres (Miguel A. Torres); twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosa Rodriguez (Eusebio Rodriguez).

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 25th of April 2022 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o’clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 26th of April 2022 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2645 Tulipan Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
