Alton Cornish Cowan,Jr.

Mr. Alton Cornish Cowan Jr., 67, our beloved father, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Alton who was born in Raleigh, North Carolina had been a resident of Brownsville for 30 years. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy during the Viet Nam conflict. He worked as an electrical engineer and also taught Math at the University. An avid star gazer, Alton had built his own personal observatory in his backyard. Star gazing was truly his passion and he had dreamed of being able to go online and somehow connect with other star gazers. He was also a fan of amateur radio and had WB8TQS as his call signal. .

Alton was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Alton Cornish Cowan Sr.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his son, Robert Lee Cowan and his wife Nancy Ann and a daughter, Lisa Ann Cowan and numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.

In accordance with Altons wishes he was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
