Alvaro Hernandez

Alvaro Hernandez, 48, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, brotherinlaw, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Alvaro was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was born on February 01, 1963 one of four children born to Manuel S. and Aurora M. Hernandez. He had received his Associate of Arts degree from UTBTSC in Science. He had been employed for the past 14 years as a surgical tech at Valley Regional Medical Center.

In his spare time, Alvaro loved to go fishing, hunting, and riding on his motorcycle. He also loved barbequeuing for his family and friends and was planning to do the cooking on Saturday for a friends birthday party. He also enjoyed playing baseball. He would gather with friends at the Brownsville Sports Park where he wore 14 as he played Second Base for the Wildcats. Alvaro will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.

Left to eternally treasure his memory are his loving wife, Irma Granado his parents, Manuel S. and Aurora M. Hernandez his brother, Manuel Hernandez two sisters: Consuelo Chelo Torres and Patricia Hernandez 3 sons: Justin L. Figueroa, Michael A. Hernandez, and Baby Nathan who is on the way 2 daughters: Payton B. Feix and Amanda M. Hernandez his granddaughter, Leandra Figueroa a stepdaughter, Alexis Miranda and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Sunday, February 27th and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St.

Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Justin L, Figueroa, Michael A. Hernandez, Manny Hernandez, Jerad Hernandez, Jeremy Hernandez, Alan Torres, Marco Rey, Dr. Howard Roberts, Rodney De Leon, Frank Garcia, Frankie Acevedo, and Sandro Braga are honored to be serving as Alvaros pallbearers.
