BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Alwin C. von Ohlen entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 10th of October 2021 in Brownsville, Texas at the age of eighty-four.
Alwin was born on March 11, 1937 in Aurora, Illinois, son of Carl von Ohlen and Helen Marie Miller von Ohlen. He attended Bardwell Elementary and East Aurora High School, later enlisting in the United States Army, where he actively served from June 22, 1956 to April 4, 1958 before entering the Army Reserves until April 4, 1962. Alwin was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Confederate Air Force (CAF) and in his spare time, attended motorcycle rallies and enjoyed rebuilding cars. Survivors include his beloved wife, Beatriz R. von Ohlen; children Mary H. von Ohlen, Michael von Ohlen, Patricia Mitchell, and David L. von Ohlen; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving him is his beloved canine Chula (who is with mom).
