Mrs. Amelia G. Avendao, 80, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville on Friday, January 11, 2008.
Mrs. Avendao was preceded in death by her husband Fernando
V. Avendao, a son Fernando Avendao, Jr, a great-grandson Oscar Jeremiah Alvarez and a sister Oralia Maganda.
Survivors include her children, Amelia Mario Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; Olga Pea of Brownsville; Ruben Elida Avendao of Brownsville; Elsa Manuel Garza of Luling, Louisiana and Diana Avendao of Brownsville. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters, Isabel Fragoso of Brownsville; Genoveva Rodriguez of Matamoros and Irma Carmona of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2008 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1200 E. Lincoln, with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Avendaos grandsons Lauro Pea, Jr., Bobby Joe Olvera, Fernando Reyes, Mario Martinez, Jr., Ruben Avendao, Jr., Alex Cisneros, Jr., and Oscar Cisneros
