Mrs. Amparo G. Gavito, 84, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, December 11, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Brownsville. She was born on July 12, 1927, the first of 6 children of Jose and Josefina C. Gomez.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jos Angel Gavito, Sr., a brother, Alfredo Antonio Gomez, and a sister, Aracelia Senteno.
She is survived by her children: Jos Angel Elisa Gavito, Jr., Alfredo Antonio Gavito, Ricardo Fernando Yara Gavito, Margaret G. Victor Canales, seven grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Alida Lavios, Alicia Armendariz, and Alma Gomez, her brother, Jose Antonio Gomez, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be George Gavito, Victor Canales, Roberto Castillo, Oscar Lavios, Ramiro Armendariz, and Ricardo Armendariz. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothersinlaw, Alfredo Gavito and Joe A. Lavios Stanley R. Greer and Russell Lambert Senteno.
