Amparo Garcia Longoria, 82, our beloved sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Amparo was born on January 11, 1929, in La Rosita, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She had been a resident of Brownsville for numerous years. Amparo was a woman who epitomized the meaning of the words compassionate and unconditional love. She was generous to a fault always there for her family and friends. Amparo was a woman of great faith and she knew and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16
Amparo will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Amparo was preceded in death by her parents: Alfredo Garcia Cantu and Matilde Longoria de Garcia, and a brother, Alfredo Garcia Longoria.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her brothers and sisters: Fructuoso Nora Garcia Longoria, Maria Luisa Garcia de Adame, Juan Alicia Garcia Longoria, and Lydia Garcia Longoria her nieces and nephews: Nora Elma, Matilde, Fructuoso, Alicia, Juan Alfredo, Bernardo, Ismael, Alma, Jose, Maria Luisa, Claudia, and Sergio and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, from 2 to 8p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary at 6p.m. at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. There will be a Catholic Liturgical Service at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, May 1st followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. All services will conclude after the two services and in accordance with Ms. Amparos wishes cremation will follow.
Fructuoso Garcia Longoria, Juan Garcia Longoria, Fructuoso Garcia Rivas, Juan Alfredo Garcia, Bernardo Garcia, Jose Adame, Sergio Adame, Ismael Garcia Salazar, and Juan Antonio Monroy are honored to be serving as honorary pallbearers.
