Ana Irene Pérez, 79, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life at Valley Regional Medical Center on Friday, June 30, 2017 with her family at her side.
Anin, as she was affectionately known to all, was born in Holguin, Oriente, Cuba. In 1968, she and her husband Amado and two daughters ages 4 & 2, left family, friends, and their homeland in search of a better life. After a short stay in Miami, they ultimately moved to Brownsville.
Anin was devoted to her family. She enjoyed being with family and friends and was the epitome of being a lady. Anin was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Anin is preceded in death by her parents. Ana Rosa and Salvador Velázquez and a brother, Salvador Velázquez.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 55 years, Francisco Amado Pérez; two daughters: Ana Luisa (Pablo F.) Martinez and Alina María Pérez; the three grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Pablo F. Martinez III M.D., Eduardo Andres Martinez, and Alina María González; and three brothers: Edison Velázquez, Andres Velázquez and his wife Nury, and Luis Velázquez and his wife Norma along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
