ANASTACIO TACHO C. ROSAS
Anastacio Tacho Rosas, II, 63, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Mr. Rosas was a resident of Deer Park, Texas.
Tacho was a devoted, caring husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family. He was born on February 19, 1947 and raised in Brownsville. He attended Brownsville High School where he was a quarterback of the Golden Eagles Football Team. He graduated high school in 1966 and attended Central Missouri State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970.
Following his service in the United States Army, he continued his studies by earning a Masters in Education. He taught at Hanna, Porter, and Pace High Schools in Brownsville for a total of 9 years and then moved to Pasadena, Texas. He was Vice Principal at Queens Intermediate School followed by 9 years as an English as a Second Language ESL instructor as Pasadena High School. His last two years he taught 4th grade at Adkins Elementary School.
Tacho devoted his free time to helping others. He volunteered as an adult education ESL teacher to immigrants in the Pasadena Texas area. He also loved sports, woodworking, and working with his hands. He was a congregant at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Deer Park, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio D. Rosas and Rafaela C. Rosas. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Leal Rosas his children, Pamela R. Oliver and her husband Mike, grandchildren Cody and Ashlynn of McKinney, Texas, son, Anastacio Rosas III and daughter, Jennifer Rosas of Deer Park, Texas. In addition he is also survived by a brother, Hector C. Rosas and his wife Esperanza of Fort Worth, Texas and a sister, Rosie Rosas of West Covina, California along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin Sunday December 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. and continue until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary in Spanish to be held at 6:30p.m., and in English at 7p.m., in the Chapel of Darling Mouser located at 945 Palm Blvd, Brownsville, Texas.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, December 20, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located at 1200 Lincoln Street, Brownsville, Texas with the burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park located at 5 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. Military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by the American Legion Post 43 Funeral Honor Guard under the direction of Commander Raul Leal, Jr.
