The Murray, Matthews, and Prez families would like to celebrate their mothers life of 98 years. Angelita Prez De La Cruz, our beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life at her residence in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

A native of San Antonio, Angelita came to Brownsville in 1929 with her family as a young girl. A devout Catholic, through her faith in God she opened her heart to endless possibilities. She instilled a sense of optimism and recognized and embraced God through the people who entered into her life. She was a faithful and devoted parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Angelita was an exceptional woman who devoted her life to her family. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Angelita De La Cruz was born on July 21, 1913 and joined her beloved husband, Bonifacio I. De La Cruz her parents, Miguel and Angelita Prez three brothers, Refugio, Fernando, and Miguel Prez and a sister, Severa Rivera on Thursday, September 22, 2011.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Lilia Lily Jim Murray, Graciela Gracie Edward Matthews, and Cecilia Ceci Juan Jose Prez four grandchildren: Melisa Prez, Diana Michael Gomez, Javier Prez, and Angelmarie Matthews one greatgrandson, Matthew Paul Gomez two sisters, Maria de Jesus Martinez and Dolores Graham, a brother, Magdaleno Prez, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The recitation of the holy rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at DarlingMouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2308 E. Tyler St. There will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church we ask that everyone meet at the church. In accordance with Mrs. De La Cruzs wishes she will be cremated and all services will conclude after the Mass.

Angelitas sonsinlaw, Juan Jose Prez and James Murray, her grandson, Javier Prez, and her nephews: Charles, Norberto, and William Prez are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Edward Matthews, Michael Gomez, and Mario Prez will serve as honorary pallbearers.
