Anna Maria Zárate, 91, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
A native of San Benito, Mrs. Zárate lived in Brownsville for numerous years before moving to Rio Hondo seven years ago. She was a devoted wife and mother who gave her all for her family. While a resident of Brownsville, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Do�a Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Juan D. Zárate; a great-grandson, Damian John Richardson; three sisters and six brothers.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her loving daughter, Sylvia Z. Rodriguez and her husband Frank; the two grandsons that were her pride and joy: Billy Killibrew Jr. and his wife Jennifer and John Seth Richardson and his wife Amanda; the five great-granddaughters that were the apple of her eye: Brianna Shay Richardson, Lauren Renae Killebrew, Alden Jenise Richardson, Jaelen Richardson, and Hailey Taylor Richardson.
Do�a Anna will also be missed by her sister, Dolores Hernandez Salazar; her brother, David Hernandez and numerous nieces and nephews but especially Beatriz Pe�a and her husband Francisco, Maribel Hernandez, and Sofia Nancy Trevi�o de Darwich the three nieces she was closest to, and other extended family members.
In accordance with her wishes, Do�a Anna will be cremated. The family will start to receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
