Mr. Antonio D. Sanchez, 88, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at his residence Friday, March 1, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was a World War II veteran and had worked in the shrimping industry for over 30 years and also for the Brownsville Independent School Districts Transportation Department.
Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife Griselda Sanchez his sons, Gerardo and Carlos Sanchez, Javier Sanchez and Saul Sanchez a daughter Mirta Barbosa and his siblings, Irene Teran, Santos Sanchez, Oralia Galvan, Yolanda Anastacion and Rosa Montiel.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, including Brenda, Kayla and Ashley as well as other family members.
Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Rosa De Leon Sanchez and by his brothers Juan, Raul, Carlos and Jesse Sanchez.
Visitation was held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 4. 2013 in the West Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 11:00 a.m. followed by Military Rites conducted by members of VFW Post 2035 Honor Guard.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church. As per the familys request, Mr. Sanchez will be cremated after the church service.
