Argentina G. Garza, 98, entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2015 at Alta Vista Nursing home with her family by her side.
Tina, as she was affectionately known to all, was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. Tina had a zest for life that was infectious. Her indomitable spirit will live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tina was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends , but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents Ygnacio and Zoila Garza; her husband, Manuel "Meme" Garza B. ; a son, Eduardo Enrique; her siblings: Zoila Blanca Garza, Ygnacio(Diamantina) Garza, Leonel(Amanda) Garza, Lucila (Raul) Besteiro, Maria Rosa(Joe) Dosal, Judge Reynaldo(Bertha) Garza, and Osbaldo Garza.
Tina is survived by her children: Tinita (Bobby) Champion Sr. from Austin, Texas, Manuel "Meme"( Beth) Garza Jr., Cristina "Quiqui" (Chuck) Tijerina. Her grandchildren: Bobby Jr. Kris Ann (Richard) De Los Santos , Michael (Gabrielle) Garza all from Austin, Texas; Michael Champion from Las Vegas Nevada; Cristina Tijerina Boreaux, Tomas (Nora) Tijerina, and Nicholas Garza; her great-grandchildren: Mia, Roberto and Isabella Boreaux and Harper Garza; sister in law Ester V. Garza and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday October 20 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:pm at Darling Mouser Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd.. Committal service will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Bobby Champion Jr, Michael E. Champion, Michael Garza, Tomas Tijerina, Nicholas Garza and Richard De Los Santos are honored to be serving as pall bearers to their beloved "Nanny".
