Augusto Cisneros Chapa

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Augusto Cisneros Chapa entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 19th of February 2025 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence surrounded by his family. He was 81 years of age. 

Augusto was born on August 14, 1943 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, son of the late Aurelio Cisneros and Amelia Cisneros Chapa. He was a longtime resident of Brownsville, Texas and was retired from Brown & Root of Houston. His favorite pastimes included gardening, barbequing, and dancing. 

Preceding Augusto in death are his parents, Aurelio Cisneros and Amelia Cisneros Chapa; and his siblings, Rafael Cisneros, Irma Martinez, and Maria G. Sanchez.

Survivors include his loving wife, Oralia Segura Cisneros; his children Maria G. Cisneros, Augusto Cisneros Jr. (Elizabeth), Danny Cisneros (Rosy), David Cisneros (Enedina Chavez); his grandchildren Vannessa Cisneros, Layla Cisneros, Augusto Cisneros III, Cassandra Vasquez, Danny Cisneros, Jr., Christopher Cisneros, Fernando Cisneros, Hector Cisneros, David Cisneros, Jr., Lisa Marie Cisneros, and Ruby Chavez; his great-grandchildren, Isla Castillo and Lilah Cisneros; and his siblings Oscar Cisneros, Aurora Perez, and Angelica Cisneros.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 24th of February 2025 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at twelve noon on Tuesday, the 25th of February 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
