Aurora Fernandez

Aurora Santa Ana Fernandez, 86, passed away on Sunday evening, June 21, 2009, at Valley Regional Medical Center, Brownsville, Texas.

She was born in Brownsville, Texas and was a life-long resident. She graduated from Brownsville High School and was married to Ramon Fernandez for 53 years. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother who enjoyed gardening, bowling, and traveling with her family. She was a member of the Brownsville Womens Bowling Association where she received numerous bowling awards. Her families, and especially her two daughters, were her pride and joy and that also included numerous nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Cha Cha, and will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ramon Fernandez; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Fernandez; her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez Santa Ana; her father, Luz Austreberto L.A. Santa Ana; her brother, Alfonso Santa Ana; and her sister-in-law, Bettye Santa Ana.

She is survived by her two loving daughters: Yvonne Evie and Sandra Sandy Fernandez; her sister, Mireya and her husband Dorden LeBeouf; and her brother, Raul and his wife Sue Santa Ana, from South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. We ask that everyone meet at the Mausoleum at Buena Vista Burial Park for entombment services. Al Santa Ana Jr., James Rodney Santa Ana, Ryan Matthew Santa Ana, Guillermo Gonzalez Jr., Javier Sanchez, and Danny Sanchez are honored to be serving as Auroras pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Raul Santa Ana, Dorden LeBeouf, Guillermo Gonzalez Sr., Christopher Neil Santa Ana, Curtis Jon Santa Ana, Todd Christian Santa Ana, Ernest Silva Jr., and Jonathan Silva.
