Aurora P. Garcia, 89, beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, greatgreatgrandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.
Aurora was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She worked at Booth Fisheries where she made countless lifetime friends. Aurora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who gave her all for her family. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. Aurora was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Fernanda Perez her husband of 62 years, Prajedes G. Garcia Sr., two grandsons, Joey Lopez and Prajedes Garcia III, two sisters, Juanita Santa Ana and Pauline Puente and three brothers, Roberto, Isidro, and Manuel Perez.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Anita Federico Trevio Ramirez, Prajedes Marina Garcia Jr., Rogerio Esther Garcia, Aurora G. Taylor, and Frances G. Valentin Mata Sr. nine grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren, five greatgreat grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 with the recitation of the holy rosary service scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, with the funeral Mass scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2308 E. Tyler St.
Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Valentin Mata Sr., Rogerio Garcia Jr., Valentin Mata Jr., John Taylor, Gil Perez and Frank Morales are honored to be serving as Auroras pallbearers.
