Aurora Gonzalez Orive

Aurora G. Orive, 90, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Aurora was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Aurora worked as a seamstress at McNair Manufacturing and other local clothing manufacturing plants. In her spare time, Aurora enjoyed gardening, listening to music and singing along, and cooking for family, friends, and her church. Aurora was a faithful Christian woman all her life. Aurora was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Aurora is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Yolanda G. Orive; a son, Julian Orive Jr.; her parents, Luz and Higinio Gonzalez; and 5 brothers.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Aurora is her husband of 70 years, Julian L. Orive; her children: Eduardo (Ninfa) Orive, Lydia O. (David) Treviño, Irma Orive, Susana O. (Rosendo) Garcia, Samuel (Yolanda) Orive, Adita (Oscar Guajardo) O. Lucio, and Febe (Billy Lopez) Orive. Aurora will also be missed by her 4 brothers: Adan (Raquel), Cain (Helen), Ildifonso (Cindy), and Rodolfo "Roy" Gonzalez; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Entombment services will follow in the Mausoleum at Buena Vista Burial Park. Adrian Treviño, Jason Treviño, Erik Gutierrez, Sidney Orive, David Edward Garza, and David Schiller are honored to be serving as Aurora's pallbearers.
