Ava Beeba Farroba Etheridge, beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt, passed away at her residence on May 14, 2009.
Born in Brunswick, Georgia, Ava and her family had lived in Georgia and Florida before settling in Brownsville and living here for many years.
After a very long and successful career, Ava recently retired from Rich Sea-Pak. Ava received numerous certificates and tokens of recognition and appreciation for her 50 years of dedicated service to Rich Sea Pak. Ava started with the company on March 1, 1957 and was recognized on March 1, 2007 for being the only employee to dedicate 50 years of service to their company. Throughout her years of service she made many friends that become a large part of her life and whom she enjoyed spending time with.
Ava maintained a lifelong love and appreciation for family, fishing, Ford Mustangs, animals and the Deep South Old Dixie. Ava was a very loving, caring, giving and generous person. Ava was a devoted aunt, great aunt and sister-in-law and was deeply involved in the care and daily lives of her family. Ava made every family holiday and gathering complete with her presence. She is loved tremendously and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those who were fortunate to have known and loved her. Ava will be greatly missed by those she left behind, known as Beeba to her family, she is now in the arms of her parents and was able to reunite with her beloved baby brother John Louis Farroba whom she cherished and missed dearly.
Ava was preceded in death by, and has now joined, her parents, Manuel and Wilma Farroba; her beloved younger brother, John Louis Farroba, and her older brother, Edward Farroba.
Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her sister-in-law, Gloria John Farroba of Brownsville; her nieces, Katherine D. Farroba of Washington, D.C., Suzette F. John Deckert of Evergreen, Colorado, Ava Jana Farroba Norberto Flores of Brownsville; her nephew, John Manuel Farroba of Brownsville; and her two grand-nephews, Teofilo Norberto Flores Jr. and John Patrick Flores both of Brownsville.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2009 in the Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Services will be held at 10a.m., Monday, May 18, at Church of the Advent Episcopal, 104 W. Elizabeth, Brownsville, TX with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Deckert, John Manuel Farroba, Gilbert Colunga, Ruben Ramirez, T. Norberto Flores and Katherine D. Farroba.
