BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Blanca Paredes Trevino entered into eternal rest on Thursday, the 5th of October 2023 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence. She was ninety-one years of age.
Blanca was born on December 22, 1931 in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of the late Lorenzo Paredes, Sr. and Amelia Garza Paredes, the eldest of her six siblings, and niece of the late Dr. Américo Paredes. Raised in Brownsville, Blanca attended local schools and was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Class of 1952. She met and married the love of her life, Richard Lee Trevino, on November 24, 1955. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church. Blanca was very independent, still driving herself to wherever she pleased. Some of her favorite pastimes included socializing with her cousins, taking care of her various plants and flowers in her garden, avidly reading books and newspapers, cooking and baking, enjoying a good political debate, and listening to music from her era, such as Frank Sinatra. Above all, Blanca loved being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and always put others needs before her own. She always looked out for her family and ensured they were well taken care of.
Preceding Blanca in death was her loving and devoted husband, Richard Lee Trevino; her grandson, Steven Lee Montalvo; her parents, Lorenzo Paredes, Sr. and Amelia Garza Paredes; her brother, Lorenzo “Larry” Paredes, Jr. (Naty); and her sister, Lydia Paredes.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Michelle Marie Montalvo (Cesar R.); her grandsons, Nicholas Cesar Montalvo and Joshua Richard Montalvo; her sister, Irma Coddington (Chuck+); her brothers, Hector Paredes (Betty) and Sergio Paredes; in addition to numerous extended family members.
