BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Barbara Jean Eriksen entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 31st of May 2024 at Solara Hospital in Harlingen, Texas after a valiant battle with cancer. She was seventy-six years of age.
Barbara was born on the 4th of July 1947 in Houstonia, Missouri. She grew up in Missouri where she graduated from high school and began working in the banking industry before moving to Texas and becoming a domesticated engineer. She went on to become the office manager for Border Properties for thirty-four years until her retirement. Barbara was a loving wife and mother and was a very giving and loving individual. A devout woman of faith, Barbara was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church.
Preceding Barbara in death was her husband, Gordon Lincoln Kronstad Eriksen, and her sisters, June A. Semkin and Marsha Voss.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Wayne McKnight and Brandy McKnight (Jesus Lopez), in addition to extended family members and a host of friends.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 8th of June 2024 at the First Baptist Church, 1600 Boca Chica Boulevard, Brownsville.
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, the family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the First Baptist Church.
