Basilio Aguilar, 93, of Brownsville, our beloved father and grandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
Basilio, known to his many friends as El Gato, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a firefighter for a brief time and then worked for many years at different local fish houses.
Basilio was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe S. Aguilar and by his son, Basilio Aguilar, Jr.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his children: Gloria Oscar Buentello, Alicia Albert Mayorga, and Robert Manuela Aguilar; a daughter-in-law, Irma Aguilar; and several grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Committal services will follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
