Miss Bella P. Luna, 86, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.
A native of the Phillipines, Bella, had been a resident of Brownsville for many years. As a dedicated teacher with the BISD for over 30 years, Bella touched the lives of countless of our communities youth as a teacher at Russell Elem. A devout Catholic, Bella was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Bella was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Bella was preceded in death by her parents, Nieves Peña and Deogracias Luna; a sister, Angelita; and 3 brothers: Deogracias Jr., Genciano, and Antonio Luna.
Bella is survived by four sisters, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
The visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11th in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. We ask that everyone meet at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road on Monday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Mass. All services will conclude after the Mass and in accordance with Bella's wishes cremation will follow.
