Bertha Garcia Weaver, 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, in San Marcos, Texas.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Desiderio and Rosalia Garcia; her husband, Miguel Weaver Sr.; five brothers: Ciprian, Tomas, Federico, Severo, and Manuel Garcia; and two sisters: Delfina Guerrero and Amelia Garcia.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Bertha are her six children: Mike (Viola) Weaver Jr. of Cibolo, TX; Jim (Hilda) Weaver of San Antonio TX; Armando (Cindy) Weaver of San Benito, TX; Rosie (Bob) Cravey of Kyle, TX; Cynthia (Fred) Cardenas of Harlingen, TX; and Gerald (Christy) Weaver of Schertz TX.; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grand-children. Bertha will also be missed by her sister, Adelina Garcia Weaver and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Bertha was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Visitation for Bertha will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. that evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
A Funeral Liturgical Service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 555 West St. Francis St., in Brownsville, TX, with Deacon Felipe Trevino officiating. Burial will follow at the Weaver Cemetery in Las Rusias, TX.
Bertha's six grandsons: Michael A. Weaver, Christopher F. Lopez, Richard R. Weaver, James M. Weaver, Bryant B. Cardenas, and Kevin A. Weaver are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother.
