Bettie Carole George

George, Bettie Carole, age 71, of South Padre Island, TX, passed away Wednesday afternoon July 25th, 2012 at Harlingen Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred L. Butch George a daughter, Tracie Lynn Gillen and her husband Greg of Miamisburg, Ohio a son, Todd A. George of Port Isabel, Texas four grandchildren: Lindsey Hurley and her husband Zachery, Ryan and Kyle Gillen of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Vicki L. George of Smithville, Missouri one sister, Carolyn Young of Ocala, Florida two brothers: James Stovall and his wife Cathy and Doug Stovall and his wife Lois of Waynesville, Ohio and nieces and nephews.

Bettie was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Leroy George and her parents, James B. and Irene Stovall.

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Bettie located to Brownsville, Texas in 1984, and in 1990, moved to South Padre Island, Texas. She fished in various fishing tournaments on south Padre Island and she was involved with the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel by the Sea on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life ceremony will be held immediately after the memorial service.
