Blanca Estella Guerra, 57, beloved daughter, sister, sisterinlaw, aunt, coworker, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.

A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Blanca was born on March 13, 1953. She was a graduate of Brownsville High School Class of 1971. She received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Pan American University at Brownsville. She had been a faithful and devoted employee of the Point Isabel Independent School District as an accountant in their business office for the past 15 years.

Blanca had several pastimes that she enjoyed. Among them were: playing the guitar and singing, playing tennis, watching old movies, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and decorating.

Blanca will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Blanca was preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Coronado Guerra, and a brother, Jose A. Joey Guerra Jr.

Left to eternally treasure her memory are her father and stepmother, Jose A. and Juanita Guerra her brothers and sisters: Carmen Desi Najera Jr., Teresa Tony Aguirre, David Silvia Guerra, Carlos Yvonne Guerra, Rita Joaquin Andarza, Amanda Gerardo Maldonado, and John Sandra Guerra and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Blancas brothers: David, Carlos, and John Guerra and her brothersinlaw, Tony Aguirre, Joaquin Andarza, and Gerardo Maldonado are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews: Joaquin Andarza Jr., Cristian Andarza, Carlos Andres Guerra Jr., David Guerra Jr., and Joseph Guerra.

The Guerra family would like to express their deep gratitude to Mr. Henry LeVrier and the staff at the Point Isabel Independent School District Business office for their unfailing generosity, support, and love during this difficult time.
