Candida Suarez Gomez

Candida Suarez Gomez, 92, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her residence in San Pedro, Texas surrounded by her ioving family.

Candida was born in Brownsville, Texas to Maria Medrano and Ventura Suarez. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilberto Y. Gomez; a son, Gilberto Gomez Jr.; six brothers: Francisco, Benito, Jose, Antonio, Tomas and Felipe Suarez; and five sisters: Julia, Trinidad, Antonia, Guadalupe and Angelita.

Candida is survived by her children: Arturo (Carmen) Gomez, Maria Eugenia Gomez, Juan (Alicia) Gomez, Angelica (Leopoldo+) Flores, Jose Angel Gomez, and Maria Antonia (Eulogio+) Balli; a daughter-in-law, Rosie Gomez; a sister, Bernalda Van Cise; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 22, 2015, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at San Pedro Catholic Church in San Pedro. Committal services will follow at El Carmen Cemetery.

Oscar Flores, Omar Flores, Timothy Balli, Stevan Gomez, Mark Gomez, and Erik Gomez are honored to be serving as pallbearers.
