Cania Maria Flores

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Cania Maria Flores entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 20th of November 2022 at her residence in Brownsville, Texas. She was seventy-six years of age.

Cania was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who loved her family very much. She was the proprietor of a shrimp boat company in the Port of Brownsville, which she actively operated until her retirement. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, gambling, watching soap operas and novelas, and she also enjoyed cooking. Cania will be remembered as a very beautiful, brave and courageous lady who was self-driven, smart, and loving towards others.

Preceding Cania in death were her parents, Teodoro Flores De Leon and Bertha Rodriguez Sanchez; and her brothers, Ramiro Flores and Edelmiro Flores.

Survivors include her loving and devoted sons, Ricardo Martinez Flores (Flor B. Martinez) and Rigoberto “Rigo” Flores, Jr. (Victoria Albarran); her grandchildren, Kania Vivian Martinez and Ricardo Martinez III; her great-grandchildren Matthew Infante, Nathaniel Infante, Adeline Leigh Atkinson; and her siblings Yolanda Flores, Gregorio Flores, Concepcion Flores Benitez, Susana Mendez, Paula Flores, and Martha Imelda Flores.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 25th of November 2022 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at six o’clock Friday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude Friday night. Cremation will follow.
