Caridad P. "Cari" Salinas

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Tia Caridad P. "Cari" Salinas, who left us on Thursday, the 20th of June 2024. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Caridad will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her devotion to her nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Caridad was born on March 7, 1928, in La Burrita, Mexico, and spent her early years there with her family. She later moved to Brownsville, Texas where she worked for over twenty-nine years in the retail business until retiring.

Caridad "Cari" was a faithful and devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over forty years. She participated in many of the church activities such as lector, eucharist minister, taught baptismal classes. and helped run the chalupa during the annual karmess. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Tia Cari. You will forever be cherished and remembered.

She is survived by all of her nieces, nephews, and their children.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 25th of June 2024 between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Tuesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 26th of June 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
