Carlos De Leon, 71, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.

Carlos was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country in the Army of the United States. Carlos also served Brownsville as a firefighter for 26 years. Carlos was a parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Carlos was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Gaspar De Leon two sisters, Delfina Cisneros and Maria Antonia Davila and a brother, Jesus De Leon.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 46 years, Rosa Rosas De Leon: his three sons: Carlos Colleen A. De Len Jr., Hctor De Len, and Enrique De Len four grandchildren: Elizabeth Rose, David Cristbal, Isabella Marie and Carlos Daniel De Len his siblings: Olivia Josefina Gonzlez, Mara Elena De Len, Gaspar De Len, Rosa De Leon, Guadalupe Caballero, Mara de Lourdes Medina, Matilde Martnez, Humberto De Len, Dolores Gracia, Evangelina Alcal, Lorenzo De Len, and Jos ngel De Len and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 Military Highway. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. The Brownsville Fire Dept. and the American Legion Funeral Honor Guard will render Military honors at the graveside.

Enrique, Gaspar, and Humberto De Len, Gonzalo and Juan Rosas, Cristobal Cisneros, Saul Collazo, and Arturo Gonzalez are honored to be serving as Carloss pallbearers. David Cristobal and Carlos Daniel De Leon and Enrique Rosas will serve as honorary pallbearers.
