Carlos B. Pea, 81, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on July 15, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Carlos was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army from 19531962. Carlos was a dedicated employee with Rio Grande Valley Gas Co. now Valero Gas for 25 years before retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Carlos passion in life was dancing especially to Country Western music. Carlos was a longtime parishioner of Mary Mother of the Church Parish. Carlos was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Josefina Bustos Pea and two sisters, Alicia Echevarria and Martha Garcia.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Esther Pea the three sons he was so proud of: Carlos Jennette Pea Jr., Armando Janet Pea, and Juan Javier Cori Pea six grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Carlos will also be missed by his sister, Teresa Gallegos, two brothers, Luis and Joaquin Pea, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Viewing will begin at 12 Noon today, Wednesday, July 17th and continue through 9:00 p.m. The family will begin to receive friends starting at 6:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening. Prior to the rosary service Military Honors will be rendered at 6:45 p.m. for Mr. Pea by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2035.

We ask that everyone meet at the church for The Funeral Mass which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18th at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road. All services will conclude after the Mass and in accordance with Carlos wishes cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Carlos name may be made to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville, Texas 78520.
