Carolina Alvarez, 72, beloved sister, sisterinlaw, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 17, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Carolina had been a resident of Brownsville for many years. Carolina was a devoted sister and aunt who gave her all for family and friends. She was a loyal and dedicated employee of 32 years with the B.I. S.D. working in the Food Service Department most recently at Hanna High School.
Carolina liked to travel and spend time in the garden. She was always shopping for others and she enjoyed family gatherings on Sundays. Carolina will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Carolina was preceded in death by her parents: Gilberto Alvarez and Angelica S. Perez and a sister, Georgina A. Lopez.
Left to eternally treasure her memory is her brother: Gilberto Adelina Alvarez Jr., her brotherinlaw, Jose Luis Lopez Sr., her nieces and nephews: Georgina Rodney Gomez Lopez, Erika Lopez, and Yolanda and Georgina Alvarez her nephews: Jose Luis Leticia Lopez Jr., Hector, Jorge, Carlos, and Rolando Alvarez a grand nephew, Ivan Lopez and a grand niece, Dennise Lopez, and many, many friends and other extended family members.
Visitation and a rosary service were held yesterday at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Lukes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
