Charles Maurice Brown, 67, was called by the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2008. He died peacefully after a battle with several illnesses.

During Charlies life time he lived in Illinois, where he worked at Harper Wyman and was a Master Sergeant in the National Guard and was the first Governor of the Moose Lodge in Princeton, Illinois.

In the early 70s he was transferred to Brownsville, to open a plant for Harper Wyman, a Maquilladora. He also operated Marks and Rodriguez Delivery Service for over 20 years. He was very instrumental in bringing the air cargo business into the valley. For the last 14 years he has worked at Valley Trucking.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Brown, and his parents, Cyrus and Gail Holstrom Brown. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Gary Brown Hartwig of Aurora, Illinois, Larry Janie Sutton of Brownsville, Bryan Maggie Sutton of Dallas and Thomas Brown of Austin, 7 grandchildren, Mitchell, Bradley and Gregory Hartwig, Jay Gonzalez, Dorothy Sutton, and Laura and Bryan Sutton, his sister, Janice Brown Schuster of McNabb, Illinois, and a brother, John Brown of Montgomery, Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 5 to 8p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 11a.m. in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard under the direction of Commander Raul A. Leal.

Work was his passion and he loved the valley. Charlie certainly loved his family and he valued each and every one of his friends.
