Charles W. Ruth, Sr.

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Charles W. Ruth, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 14th January 2022 at his residence in Brownsville surrounded by family. He was eighty-nine years old.

Preceding Charles in death were his children James Ruth, Edward Ruth, and Sylvia R. Barron (Rogelio +); his mother, Leonarda H. Ruth; his brothers, Domingo Rosas and Carl W. Ruth (Mary +); his grandson, Rudy Cantu, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Sky Leal.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Rosalva Ruth; his children Rosie R. Cantu (Rudy +), Letty R. Garcia (Joe), Charles W. Ruth (Letty), David Ruth (Yvonne), and Patty R. Montemayor (Victor); thirty-one grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Eli Ruth (Gloria) and Joe Ruth (Mary +). Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 19th of January 2022 between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

A chapel service will commence on Thursday, the 20th of January 2022 at nine o’clock in the morning. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Benjamin Leal, Abraham Ruth, Charles Ruth III, Joe James Garcia, Victor Montemayor, Jr., Jordan Davila, and Jade Rodriguez.
