Miss Ciria Olvera, our beloved sister and aunt, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Spanish Meadows Assisted Living in Brownsville, Texas.

A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Nena as she was affectionately known to all, was the daughter of Victor R. Olvera and Delfina M. Olvera. Ciria was a graduate of Brownsville High School, RM School of Business, and attended Texas Southmost College. She was a faithful and dedicated employee of the Brownsville Independent School District in the Tax Office for 35 years. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner and supporter of both the Immaculate Conception Church and St. Marys parish.

Ciria was also a member of BARSEA Brownsville Area Retired School Employees Asso., The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Sacred Heart of Mary Court 2448, an Associate of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, and an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Ciria loved to play the piano and touched many with her beautiful music, especially on Fridays when she would play for the Friday St. Lukes Noon Mass at Good Samaritan Nursing Home now Alta Vista. She will also be remembered for her good natured laugh. Ciria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known her.

Miss Olvera was preceded in death by her parents, Victor R. Olvera and Delfina M. Olvera, her sister, Carmen O. Garcia, and a brother, Victor A. Olvera.
