Conception V. Garcia, 91, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Monterrey, Mexico and later met the love of her life, Anthony P. Garcia and moved to Brownsville where they resided since 1960.
A devout Catholic, she volunteered at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and was an active member of the Sacred Heart and St. Vincent de Paul organizations, where she made lifelong friends. She loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, fishing, and most of all cooking and baking. Those who knew her, remember her ability to bring people together with her positive and friendly demeanor. She was an extraordinary person who will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony P. Garcia; her brother, Jose and her sister, Guadalupe. She is survived by her brother, Jesus; her sister, Christina; her son, Robert (Lori) Garcia; her daughters, Catalina (Sergio) Loya and Alice (Ezequiel) Aguilar; her grandchildren, Christina, Allison, Aria, and Anthony, and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Rosalinda Garcia, who devotedly cared for our mother and father for the past 16 years. We would also like to thank Rosario “Chayo,” Elvia, Mari, Nelly, Noemi, and her daughter Noemi, who also cared for our mom throughout these years with much devotion. We would especially like to thank Dr. Luis H. Robles and Dr. Luis E. Gaitan, her physicians of many years.
Visitation hours will held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, between the hours of three o’clock in the afternoon to nine o’clock in the evening with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at seven o’clock in the evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 and continue until eleven thirty in the morning when we will begin the dismissal process. The Funeral Mass is scheduled to begin at Twelve noon at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 Military Rd. (US Hwy. 281) Brownsville. Committal services will then follow, via an escorted procession at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
