Concepcion, better known as Tia Coco to her family and friends was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 16, 1929. Tia Coco was a warrior of God all her life. From the age of 5 she was raised in Monterrey, Mexico where her parents moved with their family (7 children) to serve as missionaries. She completed her schooling in Mexico, but received her GED in Texas at a later time in life. She found a partner in faith and life when, at the age of 32, she married Eleazar Garza Sr. on May 5, 1962 in McAllen, Texas. The couple lived and raised their two children in Brownsville, Texas until both children were adults. With her husband Tia Coco attended seminary school, founded and pastored with her husband the Templo Jerusalem, and owned Liberia La Luz and Garza Egg Co. After the death of her husband in 1997, Tia Coco moved to San Antonio, TX to be closer to her children and grandchildren. The Lord was always the focal point of Tia Coco’s life. She dedicated her life to praising his name spreading His love through her kindness, generosity, and wisdom. She was always involved in her local church and was the author of several books about faith and Christian spirituality.
She is survived by her two children, Eleazar Garza Jr. and Noemi Saldivar (Sergio Saldivar); two grandchildren, Abraham Saldivar (Danielle Alvarez- Saldivar) and Elizabeth Garza; one great-granddaughter, Grace Saldivar; three sisters Ada Rodriguez, Eva Rocha, and Ruth Zamarron; and one brother, Eli Villagomez.
