Consuelo L. Garcia, 90, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother, greatgreatgrandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, September 6, 2011at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Garcia was born on March 13, 1921 in Laredo, Texas. She and her husband moved to Brownsville in the late 1940s. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful and devoted parishioner at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Mrs. Garcia was an exceptional woman who devoted her life to her family. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her son, Santos A. Garcia her husband, Arnulfo S. Garcia and her parents, Antonio and Maria Libres.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Linda Rick Beale, Antonio Tony L. Sylvia Garcia, Maria C. Garcia, Daniel E. Garcia, Idalia Bennett, Manuel L. Garcia, Adelina Garcia, and Amede Linda Mae Garcia her grandchildren: Debbie Guzman, Laurie Michael Jones, Sandra Imogen, James, Anthony, Cathleen, and Eric Garcia, Lailani Rose Daniel Human, Sandra Veronica Manuel III Uvalle, Rolando Rene Avitia, Michael Lee, Kelly Jean, and Paul Garcia, Rebecca Sanchez, Jolynn N. Barnes, and Jacob and Rene J.R. Perez her daughterinlaw, Lona Mae Garcia, her sister, Lydia Lily Patricia Muoz 25 greatgrandchildren 1 greatgreatgrandson and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
In accordance with Mrs. Garcias wishes she will be cremated. There will be a memorial rosary service at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St. followed by a Memorial Mass at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mrs. Garcias name may be made to St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
