Consuelo G Ibanez, 83, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her home after a long battle with Cancer.
Consuelo was a lifetime resident of Brownsville, coowner of St. Francis Bookstore, member of St. Mary Mother of the Church , an in active member of the Altar rosary society, served at both Immaculate Conceptions Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years . For those that knew our mother her love for our family, her love for people, her love for life and her HEART of gold will be greatly missed.
Ms. Ibanez was preceded in death by her husband, Heberto Ibanez , her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jose Maria Gonzalez, a brother Jose Maria Gonzalez, a sister Olga Izquierdo.
Survivors include her children: Joe Donna Ibanez, John Ibanez and John Grothues, Carmen Jesus Amaya, Olga Ernesto III Villarreal, and Cindy Ricardo Rodriguez. She is also survived by two sisters: Hilda Batiz and Eloisa F Gonzalez. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Michelle Damon Dumlao, Nicole Michael Clark, Joey Manesseh Ibanez, Ernie Lindsay Villarreal, Brandi Rodriguez and Trevor Ross, Austen Rodriguez, Leo Melissa Amaya, Marco Kaitlin Amaya, Miguel Amaya, Marisa Amaya Javier Hernandez as well as fourteen great grandchildren and the fifteenth on the way , numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, Friday, October 1, 2010 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at DarlingMouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 at St. Marys Church, 1914 Barnard, with entombment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joey Ibanez, Ernie Villarreal, Austen Rodriguez, Leo Amaya, Marco Amaya and Miguel Amaya. Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Dumlao, Mike Clark, Javier Hernandez.
Mrs. Ibanezs family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Odyssey Hospice, to Dr. Ricardo Adames for the many years of wonderful care, the Staff at South Texas Rehabilitation Center and to Valley Regional Medical Center.
